Independent MEP Janice Atkinson has become the latest high-profile public figure to speak out about “The Great Replacement” which argues that native Brits and Europeans are being systematically replaced through mass, uncontrolled immigration.
Writing in the Voice of Europe following an exclusive by Shy Society over an English Heritage training programme excluding white people, the South East England MEP says that when she first read about the theory she thought it was an “over reaction”. But the former UKIP politician has recently changed her mind and is now “absolutely convinced” that The Great Replacement is a concerted effort by globalist elites to replace the indigenous population; using uncontrolled, mass immigration from largely Muslim-majority countries in order to exploit low birth rates across the continent.
“When I first read about the Great Replacement I thought it was a little over reaction but now I am absolutely convinced that this is now the plan from the EU, the former Obama administration, the UN, some liberal left UK politicians and even some so-called conservatives,” Janice wrote on the pan-European media platform.
She joins a growing list of high-profile figures to break ranks and endorse the controversial viewpoint. It was first coined by French author Renaud Camus in 2010 but is often dismissed and ridiculed as a ‘conspiracy theory’ in the British mainstream media. However former French journalist and current mayor of Beziers, Robert Menard, has backed the notion and ex-Mail Online columnist and Rebel Media correspondent Katie Hopkins also recently said she agreed, adding “it isn’t a myth – it’s happening right now, systematically”.
Talking about English Heritage’s decision to offer a training programme to only ‘Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic Heritage’ people, Janice went on: “The Great Replacement is openly and honestly being carried out by some of our (former) venerable institutions such as English Heritage and the National Trust.
“Both are publicly funded and membership driven organisations. Set up explicitly to preserve our nation’s heritage, culture and buildings, which are inextricably linked. That’s the problem for those in charge – the culture and heritage.
“The National Trust, English Heritage and other allied organisations are now actively involved in the Great Replacement. Stating in a letter to a friend of mine, dated 11thMay, they believe they have to deal with ‘the under-representation we face… our paid workforce is predominantly White British. Only 3% is Black and Minority ethnic, compared with national employment average of 14% (forecast to increase to c33% by 2050). Given this considerable under representation, we want to ensure that we are an attractive employer and place to volunteer, to people from a BME background.’
“Considering that the UK’s BME representation is currently 14% why do these organisations think that we, the membership, approve and sanction this BME target nonsense?
“Why do they demean the 14% of BME nationals who choose NOT to work for these institutions? We have the lowest unemployment since records began and, perhaps, they do not wish to volunteer but are looking for well-paid employment opportunities?”
Janice, vice president of the Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF) group in the European Parliament, claimed political interference had now permeated these organisations and urged people to cancel their memberships, adding “the only way to tell these people is through their bank accounts.”
“Our culture and heritage cannot just be swept aside and history re-written because of a narrow and dangerous political perspective that isn’t supported by the wider public and membership. I am not renewing the Atkinson membership,” she added.
